I am selling a true 1963 Gibson Dove guitar. It was purchased in 1963 and is completely original (except for strings of course). It sounds great and has only cosmetic blemishes. The silver plate has worn from the machines and bridge but all function properly. It has its original case. Can anyone give me an idea of its worth?

The other answers to your question are from idiots and should be disregarded. 1. detune the strings. 2. remove the spring cover. 3. Adjust the "claw" that attaches the springs to the body so it's about 1/2 inch from where the screws go in. 4.Pull back on the "inertia block" (the part of the tremolo the springs attach to) until the tremolo is level 5. Insert a wooden wedge between the inertia block and the front of the tremolo cavity to hold it in place. 6. Tune the guitar close to concert pitch, stretching each string as you go (give them two or three good yanks at the 12th fret and retune). Now tune to pitch and when all six strings are very close to tuned, the wedge will fall out.
