Re: Electric vs Acoustic

Re: Need a $ value for a Martin HD-2832

Does in say "Made In USA" (Nazareth PA.)on the label inside the soundhole??...if so-- legend says that American wood was shipped to Japan (legendary woodworkers)-- where it was cut into "kits" ,shipped back-- and assembled at the Martin Factory in PA....How that was cheaper than doing it all here-- I'll never understand. Supposedly the sides and back are laminated...but I see the same grain inside my guitar, as on the outside..Mine was made in 1983...and sounds as good (or better) than 80% of the Martin D28's I've played over the years. If you like the way it sounds...1000.00 is probably a fair price..It will only appreciate in value (not like a "real" D28)--but more than the cheap shit they are selling for 800/900 bucks now (Martins included)--The HD is for Herringbone D-28...the 32 means it has a pickup under the saddle...it is a first generation Fishman pickup that you will need a pre-amp for. i have a fender american series strat with the 2 point tremolo and it stays in tune perfect as long as you dont treat it like a floyd rose, but if you put a little graphite in the nut it WILL NOT come out of tune
