I would sugest paying as much as you need to if you get a Warlock. i recently purchased one for $325 and I love the guitar. It doesn't weigh much, it also sounds, looks, and feels great.

Well, I can't seem to find any info on exact lengths. All the manufactures info states that the previous mentioned classical guitar has a scale length (neck) of 23" and 4" body depth. I looked around the Internet and it seams that a lot of the 3/4 scale (student size) nylon string classical guitars are 36" and many 3/4 scale steel string acoustics are 34". You may want to look into an electric guitar, they are even easier to play and are thinner bodied, also kids seem to think the are more "cool" than acoustical types.
