There are several ways to make a guitar look older than it is. Using a very fine grade of sand paper and lightly sanding in the areas where wear would normally appear. Steel wool can be used in the same manner. Paint thinner cut down is strength on a cloth can be used to remove some of the paint, varnish or top coat to give the apperance of finish wear from handling and use. Acids and alkali can be used to tarnish and etch the chrome parts and screws. These methods are very difficult to perfect and usally easy to detect. Natural wear is the best way to age a guitar. Just play it all the time and let time and nature take it's course.
