To tell you the truth, Les Pauls are probably the easiest guitars to learn on.The strings bend easier than most other guitars, and the action(closeness of the strings to the fretboard) is superb. But, on the other hand, learning strictly on a Les Paul could be hazardous. Once you get use to playing one, other guitars may seem much harder to play and your hand will not move as fast. to correct this problem, I suggest buying an acoustic. The strings on acoustics are thicker than that of most electrics.So, in turn, it will strengthen your fingers more than a Les Paul, and make other elecrics easier to play.
