Some new guitars right out of the box, may sound a less than pleasant. This may be because many new guitars are thrown together at a factory, have traveled great distances, just to site warehouse for a while and then travel more, just to sit in a box at the music store. All the traveling and storage, through different weather temperature and humidity changes, plays havoc on the guitar. Most music stores sell you the guitar still in the box without checking them for tone quality or any damage the guitar may have. A guitar that has been through such an experience will probably have a warped neck, a thrown out intonation and string height that is less than playable. Not to worry though, because any guitar store will use there fancy little wrenches and fix it right up, usually free of charge. Remember all of this when taking your guitar traveling, leaving it in the trunk of your car or storing it in a cold garage.
