When starting to play guitar, age is irrelevant. If you love playing guitar, then that
is all the reason you need. Don't worry about how old someone else was when they started
playing the guitar. A person can be playing guitar for 20 years and still sound bad, have
bad rhythm and can only play other peoples music. Some people I know say they've been
playing the guitar since they were five years old but in reality they have not played much
at all. They may pick up the guitar every few months and play the same old riffs over and
over. I started to play guitar when I was 22 and within just six years I was touring the
country in a popular band, had a book published on advanced guitar lessons and had created
computer software to teach the basics of guitar theory. With the the right knowledge of
guitar theory and lots of practice, you can be a great guitar player in just a few years.
If you're 45 years old and you want to be in a teen pop band, you may wanna wear a mask to
hide how old you are, other than that, age matters not. Play the guitar because you like
it, if for no other reason.
