Re: How to solo?
From: Solo guitar guy
Comments
When playing a solo, figure out what key the song is in, then figure out what chord is being played during the first part of where the solo is going to go. Keeping count 1,2,3,4, play a scale or arpeggio starting on 1 count and play one of the notes of that first chord. Then it doesn't matter much where you go from there as long as is in key. The trick is to land on the 1 count with a note of the chord that the band is on. Counts 2,3,& 4 are all filler notes. so when the count gets back on 1 again make sure that the note that your playing right then is one of the notes of the chord that the rhythm guitar or band is playing. The root note of the chord is the best to land on. If you all meet everytime the 1 count comes then it will sound good.
