There are limits to how many chords the guitar has playable giving it only has six possible notes max covering about 3 octaves. I had my computer figure out all the possible chords over the entire neck and it gave me about 10,000 possibilities. Then I got my computer to figure out all the note combinations that are reachable by a normal persons fingers in any given position and it said there were about 13,000. This is more than I thought there would be.
